The finishing touches to the internal works are now going on. The sprung floor has been installed in the sports hall and drama studio and the raised seating and carpet have gone into the lecture theatre. Detailed work to the arts and science gardens has got under way, along with other planting around the outside of the building. The main entrance is also taking shape (pictured).

The rainwater harvesting system is now complete, as is the electrical cabling. Some furniture is being installed. Perimeter footpaths have been laid.

Ceilings to the library and restaurant are being installed. Door frames are being painted.

Street lighting has started along rear drive and the bank to the East elevation has been graded to its final position.

Internal classroom windows have gone in and work has started to install the steel staircases in each faculty.

The glazed walls to the study terrace are now complete, along with the theatre windows. The framework for the toilet partitions have started to go in.

The steelwork is now complete for phase 3, which includes the science department, sports hall and Comms department.

Floor planks are being installed in the Maths and IT block.

Steel work for the community access bridge is due to go up soon.

The steelwork for the entrance bridge (which will be the main entrance point to KSA) is now complete. Part of this can be seen to the very left of the photo.

Structural work to the main courtyard area continues.

Next to go up will be the steelwork for phase 2, which includes the Maths and IT faculty.

Much of the steelwork in phase 1 is now complete, including the Art, Music and Industrial Design Faculty, the theatre, dance and fitness studios, lecture theatre and drama studio.

There is excitement as the new building starts to take shape at a rapid pace and it is closely watched by students and staff.

The steelwork for phase 1 is ongoing, with the structural work for the fitness and dance studios and changing rooms now complete.

Upgrade works to pitches is now complete.

Groundworks continue, including work for the ground-source heating system which will make the Academy one of the greenest buildings in the county.

A ground-breaking ceremony with all those who have been involved with the new build will be held on the 19^th.

The top soil is stripped in the building area and lower pitch and drainage material arrives on site - the next stage will be setting up connections to the main drain.

Offices and access points have been established for construction staff.

After months of planning KSA's new build, things start happening on site with the first delivery of materials.

Preparations for the groundworks get under way and there is more activity each day.
