Welcome letter from the Principal - April 2013

 

Dear Parents and Carers,

 

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Kettering Science Academy. I would like to take this opportunity to share with you something of my background and experiences as well as outlining my aspirations for our Academy.

 

I qualified as a teacher over twenty years ago and have worked in a number of successful schools in London, Northampton and Birmingham. For the last ten years I have been a Deputy Headteacher and Acting Headteacher. During this time I was part of a team which led a large Academy to highly successful Ofsted inspections, dramatically improved exam results and greatly enhanced life chances for our students. Our Academy became one of the country's highest performing schools for student achievement. This was secured through a commitment to provide outstanding learning and teaching along with a passion for ensuring students enjoy school and achieve their potential.

 

I was raised and educated in Northamptonshire and I still live in the county with my family. I am a parent with two children of school age and I know how important it is for our children to attend a good school. Going to a good school is a right, not a privilege and all our children deserve a high quality education.

 

My ambition for KSA is clear. We will provide our students with a world class education which will prepare them for the rigours, demands and opportunities of life in the 21^st Century.

 

I look forward to working closely with all our families to ensure success.
