Welcome to Creative, Expressive and Physical Studies

In our school we offer a range of challenging and exciting opportunities to further study expressive arts, Design Technology and Physical Education. We have a fantastic team of staff who encourage students to achieve in a kinaesthetic way.

In our Design core curriculum, students have the opportunity to study Food Technology, Graphics, Textiles and Resistant materials. Students can extend their studies in enrichment activities after school by attending clubs such as  DT club and also have the option of coursework support classes.

In our Physical Education Department students have the opportunity to study a wide range of activities from the more traditional rugby, football, netball, hockey and athletics to sports like Trampolining and Boxercise as well as being able to develop their strength through our multigym. There is a wide range of enrichment after school where there are activities available to students every night of the week. These include basketball, dance, boys and girls football, netball and Boxercise. Cricket and Cheerleading are planned for the near future. These activities are open to all students but for the most able the opportunity exists to represent the school competitively.

In our Expressive Arts Department, students study music, drama and art and have the opportunity to work across all areas in Key Stage 3 before choosing one area to study in greater depth at the Christmas of Year 9.

At Key Stage 4 students can choose to take these options further to GCSE level. Along the way students are encouraged to be involved with our many and varied productions. A central production is the one run by our A level performing Arts students who look after the whole production, from running the auditions, casting, leading the practising and designing the costumes. There is vibrancy to this area of the curriculum and students are allowed to let their talent shine through.

KSA now offers a wide range of music tuition thanks to its partnership with Intersales Teaching - click here for details.

Students at KSA are lucky enough to be able to study vocational options to level 1 at KS4. They can choose from a range of options - construction, health and beauty, and motor vehicle studies. Motor vehicle is a real strength and there is a superbly well equipped garage on site which gives an opportunity to all Year 10 Students and above to study how a car works and gain real practical experience.
