A training day was held at KSA this week to help educate students from three local schools about the issue of bullying.

During the day, students from Year 7 to 12 exchanged ideas and explored how to react in multiple bullying situations through quizzes, games and role-play activities. The objective was to give the ambassadors the knowledge and skillset to help prevent bullying and to foster an environment within our community that makes everyone feel happy and safe to be themselves. By the end of the day, the students had put together an action plan of the campaigns that they will run in their schools.

Mr Crane, who is responsible for the launch and will be overseeing the initiative at KSA, said ‘It is important that the school are involved in The Diana Award because it is everyone’s responsibility to promote equality.’

The group of 22 students from KSA that took part in the event are now trained in the types of bullying that take place and know how to deal positively with situations that may arise.

Mr Crane said ‘We are very proud of our students on the day, they represented the Academy well and were very welcoming to all the students from the other schools. They are going to make great Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.’

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador campaign is part of The Diana Award; so far, there are over 21,000 Anti-Bullying Ambassadors in over 2,500 schools.
