Over 300 students took part in a sponsored Race for Life fun run to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. The race featured a variety of obstacles such as tyres, weights, balancing beams and nets.

Entrant wore badges to show whom they were running for, which have now been displayed outside the school sports hall and each participant received a medal for their efforts.

Head of PE Mr Haywood said ‘I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the students for their efforts. Thank you also to all the staff that helped to make the Race for Life a great success.

‘All the runners had lots of fun completing the course and its wonderful to see so many students getting involved and supporting this great cause. The money raised can now be used to support research and purchase equipment.’

We are currently calculating the total money raised and hope to release the figure shortly.
