First Inter-Academy Dance Show

Dancers did KSA proud when they took to the stage for the first Brooke Weston Partnership dance show.

The Year 10 BTEC group joined students from Corby Business Academy and Brooke Weston Academy for the event at The Core Theatre in Corby last night (Thursday, February 17th).

The group started with a moving piece of contemporary dance to Massive Attack's Teardrop, which showed the progression the students have made.

In the second half, they took to the stage again with a street dance that had attitude and punch.

Other dances from KSA's sister academies included a lindy hop, a jazz set and break-dancing.

Dance Teacher Hannah Sambrook said: "The first partnership dance showcase went really well. The pupils were an asset to the school, showing how hard work and commitment can really pay off. This is hopefully the first of many collaborations between the partnership schools."

KSA's BTEC group has gone from strength to strength in recent months after students worked with a professional dancer on a piece that they have since taken into primary schools in the area.

The group also performed at a Holocaust Memorial Service and at the Cripps Theatre in Northampton.
