Helping Young People in the Philippines

Under privileged teenagers in the Philippines have benefitted from a uniform donation from the Academy.

When the Academy was established from the former Ise Community College last September, spare sports t-shirts were donated to the Refugee Relief charity.

Organised by the Academy's receptionist Alison McPhie, more than 1,000 brand new items of clothing were donated and now the shirts have made their way to a boys' school in the Philippines.

Alison said: "We had all this surplus stock and it seemed such a shame to waste it.

"We had donated to the charity in 2005 when we had a change of uniform, and so we were happy to do it again.

"It is nice to think that less fortunate teenagers are benefitting from them."

Refugee Relief, is run by Bob Parfitt, in association with a local rotary club.

The rotary club has links to a rotary club in the Philippines, which will be printing their logo onto the back of the shirts. The rotary club members are pictured left with the donated shirts.
