Da Vinci Says Goodbye to its Year 11s

Da Vinci house gave its Year 11s a send-off to remember with a special assembly complete with gifts made by other members of the house.

For some, the next couple of months will be their last at KSA and Da Vinci house was determined to say farewell in style.

There was a slideshow of photos of each student, from baby photos to Year 7 pictures to the present day.

Head of House Hazel Dodd had compiled a scrapbook of Da Vinci memories and handed out copies to Year 11s. In addition, they received cupcakes made by Brenda Miles, bags of chocolates, a Da Vinci badge, a KSA mug and Da Vinci t-shirts bearing the names of all Year 11 students.

Mrs Dodd, who also read aloud a poem she had written, told the Year 11s: "The purpose of today is to say goodbye to the oldest members of our house. Da Vinci is known for doing that little bit extra and it's not about winning, it's about being us so we wanted to give you a few things to remember.

"This year group has seen a lot of changes over the years - from the uniform and the name of the school to vertical tutoring."

Teaching staff spoke about their memories of individual students and art teacher Raj Masand said: "Whatever you do, you will succeed if you keep trying. I have faith in you. It's been a pleasure to work with you and I'm proud of all of you."
