As part of their history studies Year 7 students were looking the part as they dressed in Togas for their lesson on the Romans.
The students this term, have been looking how Rome was established, how the Empire expanded and the structure of Roman Society. In their history lesson on Monday, they experienced what it was like to wear authentic Roman clothing and had been asked to look at Togas as part of their recent homework.
History Teacher, Mrs Marissa Wright said: “The students were asked to research into Roman society and find out about the toga and their chosen toga was to reflect their place in the Roman society. For example; purple represents wealthy people and white ones are worn by Roman Citizens.”
Mrs Wright said: “Students had a week to create these and they did a fantastic job and did a lot of research which they shared in their lesson on Roman society.”
