Musical Instrument Amnesty

The music department at KSA is looking for donations of instruments and have launched an Instrument Amnesty.
Head of music, Mrs Ruth Maxwell is asking for families to dig out any non-electric instruments they might have at the back of a cupboard or hidden away in the loft,  not being used, that they are willing  to donate to be used by students at the Academy.
Mrs Maxwell said: “At the moment the awareness has been raised regarding music education and how it has the capacity to literally change lives. Children are showing a great interest here at KSA towards music, but we find that a lot of students don’t own their own instruments and we don’t have a large range of instruments for them to use.
“So, we are jumping on the up-cycling bandwagon. We have a good home here for pre-loved and abandoned instruments. We have decided to do our own KSA Instrument Amnesty to give the students, parents, and people in the community a chance to support the KSA music department and help make a difference.”
She added: “I am really excited about the response and look forward to the instruments that will be donated but most of all the amazing sound we are going to make with them.”
Instruments in a good condition are being asked to be left at the main reception at  the Secondary Phase along with a completed donation form.
