Stand Up To Cancer

Library staff at the Secondary Phase at KSA are asking for students to remember someone who has been affected by cancer to create a Stand Up To Cancer wall.

Library staff at the Secondary Phase at KSA are asking for students to remember someone who has been affected by cancer to create a Stand Up To Cancer wall.
This Friday, October 17th is Stand Up To Cancer day and library staff are asking students to help create the wall of support and remembrance as part of their ongoing promotion of the Health and Well-being area in the library, which was launched at the beginning of the term. Librarian, Mrs Heidi Economou said: “We will be coming round to classrooms during CAPS lessons this week with Stand Up To Cancer Clouds.  Students can use the clouds  to write a message on,  either in memory of a person who has passed away from cancer or in support of a person who is suffering from or has overcome the disease. We will then display these on our Stand Up to Cancer wall in the library.”
Mrs Economou added: “If any student would rather come to the library to collect a cloud we will have some available.  Students also do not have to identify themselves on their message unless they want to.”

Donations of £2 are also being sought for the campaign in exchange for a square on a special poster. They have 20 squares to sell and the winning square will be revealed after all the squares have been sold. The person who has bought the winning square will win a large tub of chocolates.
