Football Star Warming Up For Next Challenge

One of KSA’s premier footballers is ready to kick off a new challenge when she joins Northampton Town FC’s ladies section.

Annabel Johnson, who has just finished Year 11, is moving up into the ladies team after playing for the club's under-16s Centre of Excellence team for the last two years.

During that time, she played against teams including Arsenal, Ipswich, Norwich and Colchester and she trains every Saturday at Sixfields in Northampton.

It will be a big step up for Annabel when she moves into the ladies' section but it is something she will take in her stride.

Annabel started playing football when she was 10 but because there were not many girls' teams, she joined Ise Lodge boys' team, and even went on to become captain.

She was recommended for Rushden and Diamonds' Centre of Excellence where she played before moving to Northampton Town. She has recently been voted as Manager's Player of the Year at the Cobblers.

She has also played for the county's under-16 team for the last two years and was again made captain.

Not only that, Annabel has also been to the England Regional Camps three times, which takes selected players from Centres of Excellence.
