This year’s results at Kettering Science Academy further illustrate the impact of the improvements being made upon student achievement.
This has been a year of significant increase in the number of students gaining improved levels of progress in English and maths. The Academy’s value added score (which represents how well the Academy supports student progress compared to other schools nationally) has improved significantly.  The results reflect much improved teaching and learning and continue to place the Academy above the government’s floor target.
Principal for KSA, Mr Paul Davies said: “Our recent Ofsted Inspection in May highlighted the improvements which are taking place, particularly in the transformation of our culture, ethos and the quality of teaching at the Academy.  Our year 11 results reflect the judgements of the inspectors. We would like to thank all the students, parents and staff for their continuing support and hard work.”
Chair of Governors at KSA, Mr Steve Barton said: “Once again we are pleased to see a solid set of results achieved alongside an increase in the levels of progress being shown at the Academy. These GCSE results further demonstrate that the school as a whole is heading in the right direction.”
Top performers in their GCSE examinations for this year at KSA included: Joe Smallman with 7A*s and 4As, Joe said: “I am really thrilled by my results, especially my grade for further maths. I am going on to sixth form.”
Bree Streather received 5 A*s, 5As and a B, she said: “I am definitely very happy with my results. I am staying on for Sixth Form at KSA and looking to do A levels in biology, chemistry, maths, English and Sociology.”
Hannah Winstone with 1A*, 7As and 2Bs, she said: “I am very happy with my grades and they were what I expected to get. I am going onto sixth form now to do biology and psychology.”
Charlotte Marlow was awarded 6A*s, 4As and 2Bs she collected her grades with her mum, said: “I am elated with my results and was really pleased with my A* in biology.”
Her mum, Debbie Marlow added: “She has done so well and I so pleased for her, especially as she was not very well at the start of the exam period.”
Deborah Entiriwaa with 1A* 6As, a B and C, said: “I have done better than I expected and I am staying on for sixth form.”
