Students raising money for their challenge trip to Peru next year have been adding to their fundraising totals over the summer and have been coming up with new ideas for collecting more money.
Last Thursday, the group of students going on the Camps International trip met to discuss more ways to raise funds for their places.
This term the students will be holding a weekly cake stall every Friday after school, they will also be looking into hosting a Year 7 and 8 prom and a staff car wash event to take place on the next staff training day.
Each student has more than £4,000 in sponsorship to collect to allow them to take part in the four week challenge trip to Peru in July 2016.
One of the trip organisers, Mathematics Teacher at KSA, Miss Anna Keen said: “All the students are on the right track with their fundraising efforts and doing really well with collecting money towards their target amounts.
“At the meeting last week the students put forward many ideas for future events including Halloween themed fundraising, candy cane sales nearer Christmas and more bag packing at supermarkets in the area.”
During half term, Miss Keen has been invited by Camps International to go to Peru with trip leaders from other schools to have first- hand experience of the places the students will be visiting in Peru and the community projects the students will be involved with next summer.
She added: “I am very excited about going away for the week to visit the trip location and to see the community projects that the students will be helping out with in the summer.”
