Sports Award Winners

The winners of KSA’s Sports Person of the Year Awards have been announced and trophies were presented to the winners in assemblies last week.

 

The Winners of KSA’s Sports Person of the Year Awards have been announced and trophies were presented to the winners in assemblies last week.
The Key Stage 4 winning girl was revealed as Year 11 Student, Esther Osewa and she received her award last Friday.
Esther was chosen as the winner for: Always going above and beyond what is expected of her and for being committed to achieving her best in PE.
 Esther said: “I didn’t expect to receive the award in recognition of my sporting activities and I am both very happy and surprised to win it.”
Esther is a keen athlete and competes for the school in track events and also runs for Kettering Harriers outside of school.
She said: “I have been running with Kettering Harriers for two to three years. My distances are 100m and 200m sprints. I also compete in long jump events.”
Key Stage 3 winners were Olivia Seymour for the girls and Callum Stratford for the boys and they were both presented their trophies last Thursday.
Year 10 student, Olivia Seymor won for her: Exceptional attitude and outstanding performance in all sports within the curriculum and extra-curricular.
 Olivia said: “It was a surprise to be announced as the winner as there are lots of other students who deserved to win too. I really do like all sport and I especially enjoy playing basketball. I have played for the Academy teams and I was a member of the rounders team, but outside of school I like to do a variety sports to keep fit generally. I am also taking GCSE PE.”
Callum Stratford was presented with the boys award for his: Outstanding effort and commitment to extra-curricular and his excellent attitude towards PE as a subject.
 Year 10 student, Callum said: “It was a real surprise to get the award. I play for both the football and basketball teams for the school.  I have been playing for these Academy teams since Year 7. I was really pleased to win the award.”







The Key Stage 4 winner  for the boys was Adam Bridgman and he was awarded his trophy before the end of last term at his Year 11 prom.
Adam was chosen for the award for his: Excellent achievement in BTEC Sport and his outstanding achievement in basketball.
