Parents of Secondary Phase Students are being asked for their opinions on the setting of homework throughout the Academy.
A draft  policy document on homework has been developed in response to a self-evaluation on the school’s homework provision and how it was found not to be consistent across the academy.
The school is also looking at homework as a whole following a number of points raised at the most recent parents’ forum meeting.
Vice Principal, Mr Simon Anderson said: “We would like to conduct a short consultation with all parties regarding the role, value and expectations for homework in the life of a twenty first century student.  The KSA consultation for homework will be open from Friday 20th November to Friday 4th December. We are looking for parental views on all matters concerning homework. A draft homework policy is available on the website for parents and carers to view and comment upon.”

Any comments on homework can be sent to: homeworkconsultation@ketteringscienceacademy.org by Friday 4th December for consideration as part of the consultation.
A drop in consultation will then take place on Tuesday 8th December between 5.30pm and 6.30pm where the main issues can be discussed.

The following is to be considered:
Do you think Homework should be set?
Do you agree with the National expectations set out in the attached policy?
If not, do you think they should be higher or lower?
In the draft policy is a list of Homework Objectives – which do you strongly agree with?
