Student bakers are being sought to represent Kettering Science Academy in this year’s Great Brooke Weston Bake Off competition in the summer.
Bakers from Years 7 to10 are required to try out for this year’s Inter-Schools catering competition and they will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of KSA’s 2015 winning team.
Interested candidates are being asked to see Food and Catering Teacher, Mrs Hazel Dodd or Restaurant Manager, Mr Alan Sewell to collect an information letter and a recipe book.
Initial practice sessions for the bakers are starting after school from next Thursday, 28th January in the Food Technology department at the Secondary Phase between 3.30pm and 5pm.
Mr Sewell said: “We are currently looking for at least 12 interested students to come forward to practise baking to then compete in the qualifying rounds after Easter. Then the 12 will bakers will become four to make up the team to take part in the Bake off final event in July.”
A team of four bakers from KSA will be competing against other teams from secondary schools within The Trust to be judged and marked on the quality and presentation of an afternoon tea for six people.
