Harry Potter Party

Students at the Academy were celebrating everything Harry Potter in the library on Thursday 4th February.
As Harry Potter parties were being held all over the world on the same day, our fans at KSA joined in the fun with a themed event held in the Secondary Phase’s library and they all enjoyed the spell-binding event.
The party was hosted by the Ravenclaw witch and professor, Sybill Trelawney, also known as Head Librarian at the Academy, Mrs Heidi Economou.
The thirteen students from Years 7-13 were grouped into the various houses of Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin for an evening of fun and games.
The games included tasting Bertie Bott’s -every flavour jelly beans, guessing mystery objects in bags, apple bobbing, whacking the Dementor, taking their fortune predictions from Trewleney’s fortune box and eating a feast of wizardry wonders.
The group of students all had a great evening together and enjoyed sharing their appreciation of the Harry Potter novels.
Mrs Heidi Economou said: “It was a magical evening, spent with some of KSA’s biggest Potter fans.  Students involved fully embraced the event by dressing up and also really entering into the spirit of the themed games.  It’s lovely to see that the magic of the Harry Potter carries on into new generations of fans. The Philosopher’s Stone was first published in 1997, nearly 20 years ago, well before our students were even born.  I hope that Bloomsbury continue to promote Harry Potter Night so that we can participate again in the future.”
A photo booth style photo session of the students in their wizards costumes ended the evening and they were each sent home with themed goodie bags.
