Careers Advice With A Difference

A group of three actors visited the Academy last Thursday to present an informative performance to our Year 9 Students on career options available to them within the NHS.
Enact Solutions visited KSA last week and performed a 40 minute fast-moving performance on the various jobs on offer within the health service.
The play saw the actors in character as students visiting a hospital and learning about people’s jobs as they bumped into individuals around different departments.
Through the drama the actors relayed to our students facts and information about many different roles available to them to consider at a hospital aside from the nursing staff and medical roles associated mainly with the NHS.
They named roles of care assistants, administration staff and speech and language therapists through to porters and occupational therapists.
Some of the roles, the actors explained, did not necessarily need students gaining a degree qualification and could be gained through a good set of GCSE grades and through workplace apprenticeships along with showing a willingness and an interest in the area of work they would like to succeed in.
The actors also promoted the Step Into The NHS website where students could find out more about the various jobs on offer within the NHS and to register any interest they might have in a career within the NHS.
