The Children in Need fundraising event at the Secondary Phase has been a hailed a great success with a lot of fun activities held in the Academy's library on Friday, 13th November.
Students and staff took part in a Mufti Day for the BBC charity with everyone donated a £1 to wear non-uniform for the day and at lunchtime the Sixth Form Charity Committee joined forces with the Business committee to hold a host of stalls and activities to raise funds.
The stalls included a lucky dip, the sale of cakes and biscuits, an official merchandise stall and the sale of raffle tickets.
There was also a group of willing Sixth Formers who volunteered to have their legs waxed all in aid of the good cause.
Sixth former and member of the Publicity Committee, Christopher Kato Mpanga said: “The gleeful day saw the Academy’s generous staff and students participating in the organised activities as well as purchasing commodities put on sale. The event was crowned with the lucky raffle draw winners receiving their prizes at the end of the school day.”
He added: “The publicity committee would like to thank all the students and staff of Kettering Science Academy for their magnanimous contribution towards the BBC Children in Need.  Special thanks go out to the members of the Charity, Library and Business Committees, as well as the staff that helped in organising the event.”

The total raised by the Secondary Phase was £1,860.
