group of our Key Stage 4 students visited the nation's largest skills and careers event ‘The Skills Show’ at the NEC.

The students learnt about a wide variety of careers, apprenticeships and traineeships as well as work experience and voluntary opportunities.

Over 200 local and national companies were on hand to give students information and advice on the different routes into a range of industries, which included Engineering and Technology, Construction and Logistics, Health and Hospitality, Digital and Business and Creative, and Design.

Through an exciting and interactive environment, students were able to explore jobs of the future and test their skills in different jobs such as plastering.

Spotlight talks from industry leads also gave students an insight into specific industries and professions.

Senior Assistant Principal Mrs Watson said: ‘The students had a fantastic day and had the chance to have a go at many careers first-hand. There was lots of information available and the students were inspired by the staff. The students were fully engaged in the day and it was a very worthwhile experience which has been highlighted by the feedback we have received.'
