KSA raise over £300 for Cancer Research UK

Year 8 students have recently taken part in competitions and sold unity bands to help raise money for their chosen Year group charity Cancer Research UK.

PE teacher Mr Michael Stock led assemblies in the run up to Stand Up to Cancer day and spoke about 5 year old terminally ill Bradey Lowery who has neuroblastoma. He informed students about the variety of cancers there are, the causes and explained some of things they could do to help prevent it.

Year 8 students also took part in a form moneybox competition where they had to design and make moneyboxes to collect the money raised for the charity. The winner of the competition was recently announced as form 8MSK.

The library has sold Unity bands over the last few weeks helping to bring the money raised to a total of £368.

The money will go towards helping the charity fund research projects and support the work of scientists, doctors and nurses.

Thank you to everyone who supported the charity by making a donation.
