Students have inspirational poetry published

Over 70 of our Key Stage 3 students have received confirmation that they will have their poems published as part of the latest Young Writers competition.

Over 70 of our Key Stage 3 students have received confirmation that they will have their poems published as part of the latest Young Writers competition.

During their CAPs times, the students were tasked with writing a poem all about what inspires them as part of a nationwide competition.

Out of the 105 students that applied from our Academy, 72 have been chosen to have their work published.

English Teacher Mrs Fennon said: ‘The competition encourages the community spirit in the Academy as the students work together to understand the brief. The students then work independently on their own poems, which really sparks their creativity.

‘The students have produced some brilliant pieces of work and were really excited when they found out that they have be chosen to have their work published. We are all looking forward to reading them once they have been published.’

A huge well done to all the students who took part.
