More Football Success

The Year 7 and 8 girls’ football team reached the final of the district tournament after a winning start to the season.

The team came top of their league after playing four games against Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Southfield Schools for Girls, Montsaye Community College and Oundle and Kings Cliffe Middle School.

The results included a 5-1 win over Kettering Buccleuch Academy and a 5-0 win against Southfields and it means the team will now take part in the play-off final.

The girls were also runners-up in the district tournament earlier this month when they faced teams from Corby, Kettering and Oundle.

They won their group and finished second in the district after narrowly missing out to The Kingswood School in the final.

PE Teacher Angela Charlton, who coaches the team, said: "The girls are dedicated and committed and they're keen to come to training. They work really well as a team."
