Harvard student Sam Blackman gave a talk about regenerative genetics when he spoke to a group of students at his former school, Kettering Science Academy.

Sam, who has been at Harvard since last summer, gave an overview of genetics research to Sixth Formers and students from Year 10 and 11. He talked about early experiments into cloning and how subsequent research and DNA/RNA manipulation, means that genetic diseases, such as diabetes, may soon be eradicated. He also outlined how scientists are investigating the plausibility of limb regrowth following amputation, and talked about some of the barriers that will have to be overcome before that becomes a medical reality.
