A Try At Rugby

Year 9 boys showed great promise at a rugby tournament introduced to raise the profile of the game in the Kettering area.

KSA has been playing teams from Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Bishop Stopford School, Latimer Arts College and Prince William School at this month's tournament at Tresham College.

On Monday (February 14th), KSA won the first game against KBA, beating their rival academy 15-0 with two tries from Josh Clubley and one from Aaron Currie.

The team lost its second game against Prince William but the boys have done the Academy proud throughout the games.

PE Teacher Michael Oldershaw said Player of the Tournament was Hayden McCann due to his excellent tackling and hard work in the rucks.

In other sporting news, a special mention must go to the Year 8 football team which beat Brooke Weston Academy 7-1 in a recent county cup game.

It was 0-0 at half time but the boys pulled out all the stops to secure a terrific win.
