Fundraising Starts For Kenyan Expedition

Two students who need to raise more than £3,400 each to pay for a volunteer project in Kenya are getting their fundraising under way this term.

Emma Robinson and Chloe Murphy, who are in Year 11, are part of a group of young people going to Kenya in the summer of 2012 with Camps International.

They heard about the project through KSA and while in Kenya, the girls will help to build school classrooms and take part in other projects that will benefit the local communities.

Emma and Chloe have appealed for help with an Easter raffle and their pile of Easter eggs is mounting up.

Emma said: "When we heard about the trip in school, it was described as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so we just wanted to do it."

The girls are also planning on holding a fashion show, cake sales, Christmas and summer fairs and a sponsored bike ride around Rutland Water.

More details of the Easter raffle will be announced soon.
