Sophie Has All The Right Moves

A gymnast impressed judges at a regional competition and picked up a silver award for her floor work.

Sophie Tucker, who has been a keen gymnast for six years, took part in the competition on Sunday, September 25th in Leicester.

Her back flips and tumbles earned her second place in floor work out of 13 other girls from the region.

The Year 7 student was part of a squad from Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club, which she joined three years ago.

As well as the floor, Sophie also competed on the beam, bars and vault.

She said: "I was amazed to win the floor work competition because I thought the other girls did harder moves than me.

"I like gymnastics because it's fun and I've made lots of new friends."

Sophie, who trains four times a week, has taken part in other competitions across the country and on Sunday, she is up against four other girls in the county championships.
