A Taste of Navy Life

Two students will experience what life is like in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines with a visit to a Navy airfield.

David Wilson and CJ Harris, who are Marine Cadets, are off to visit the Royal Naval Air Station in Yeovilton in Somerset next week (November 22nd).

They will find out more about the aircraft there and look round the air museum.

David, (pictured) who has been a cadet for two years at the Woodcroft centre in Kettering, recently passed his Lance Corporals with a credit, completing tasks like map-reading, field work and learning about the history of the Royal Marines.

The year 10 student has also developed his leadership skills and is now qualified to teach PE and sport after passing his PT1.

David said he plans to join the forces when he older and that being a cadet his helping to equip him with the right skills. He said: "I go to cadets twice a week - it's fun, it gives you skills for life and it develops your fitness."
