KSA achieved its best results to date in this year’s national Junior Maths Challenge thanks to the efforts of Year 7 and 8.

The challenge, which is organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust, is aimed at the top third of pupils in Year 8 or below. It involves answering 25 multiple choice questions, which have been designed to stimulate interest in maths.

The top 40% of students nationally receive a gold, silver or bronze certificate - this year KSA achieved four gold, five silver and 13 bronze certificates.

The gold winners were:

Thomas Winstone - who was also awarded Best in School and Best in Year Group (pictured with three certificates)
Adam Doughty
Samuel Blackman
Charles Wilson

Head of Mathematics, Lorraine Taylor, said: "Our certificate winners are incredibly hard working so their results are a credit to the consistent effort they put in.
"This challenge is an opportunity for students to try a different style of maths and for many, it suits them."
