French and German Students Join KSA for the Academy’s First Fun Run

French and German students from KSA’s partner schools in the international Comenius programme will take part in the Academy’s first Fun Run this month.

A group of KSA pupils have been selected to participate in the British Council programme, which will see them work on leadership projects, visit France or Germany and develop their language skills. The theme of the two-year project is Leading Ourselves to a Better Future'.

Other activities pupils will take part in through the Comenius programme include:

  • Creating tourism advertisements;
  • Constructing a website which details the Comenius programme;
  • Taking part in a canoeing descent on the Ardèche river in France in 2013 or a half marathon near Stuttgart in Germany in 2014;
  • Producing a documentary on their participation in the above events.

Pupils have already worked with some students from Gymnasium Balingen, a school near Stuttgart, to design a medal for the Fun Run. In less than two weeks, they will welcome French and German students who are visiting for the Fun Run and are then staying for a week to experience life in this country. A couple of host families are still needed - those who would like to host a student can email Ms Aine McAllister for more details at amcallister@ketteringscienceacademy.org.
