Administration assistant at KSA, Mrs Tansy Curtis, is this weekend part of a team of six embarking on a mammoth walking challenge for charity.

Mrs Curtis along with her sister-in-law, niece and three other family friends will be walking a total of 62 miles as part of the London to Brighton Challenge to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Car e.

Her team have chosen to raise money for this cause as the charity’s work is close to the family’s heart as Mrs Curtis’ mother-in-law died from lung cancer seven years ago.

The team have put in the hours of training walks and have all their supplies packed, and are now just raring to go on the challenge.
Mrs Curtis said: “We have been on many long walks since deciding to take on the challenge together as team in January. Now I am really excited about the walk and cannot wait to get started on the challenge.

“I am looking forward to the atmosphere on the walk and chatting to other walkers on the way – making the miles go by quicker.”

“I have all my equipment ready, walking shoes, walking socks and walking poles and a head torch for the night walking. I am all ready to go.”

The walkers and joggers start off from Richmond, West London this Saturday, 24th May at 10am and the team plan to reach the finish at Brighton Race Course in 24 hours.

If you would like to donate money for the challenge there is a collection tin in the Academy’s main reception or donations can be sent by text to 70070 and text TCJG62 £3 ( the amount can be changed to £2, £4, £5 or £10)

The team currently look set to raise more than £2,400 for their chosen charity.
