New Student Librarians

Th newly appointed student librarians from Year 7 at Kettering Science Academy are currently being trained to provide help and assistance to staff and students in the Secondary Phase. 

The newly appointed student librarians from Year 7 at Kettering Science Academy are currently being trained to provide help and assistance to staff and students in the Secondary Phase library.
The successful applicants from Year 7 are Mary Precious Ike, Cassandra Avery, Justine Jakobsone, Caitlin Fox, Isobel Tapp, Naomi Smith, Dylan Clark and Holly Mortimore. They have been spending time in the library familiarising themselves with the library layout and system.
The students are also in the process of  being trained and introduced to their roles in CAPS time.
 KSA Librarian, Heidi Economou said: “We are pleased to welcome these students on broad as helpers for the library and we currently introducing the Year 7 and also are Year 10 recruits to the library system and their designated tasks which will  include assisting in the general running of the library, helping with displays and keeping the library tidy.”
Mrs Economou added: “Our Year 12 students are also currently in the process of being trained to take on reading mentor roles and will be available to assist fellow students at the Academy with their reading.”
The Year 10 librarians are Preet Basra, Esther Osewa and Sophie Neely.
The Year 12 students, who will be also become familiar faces in library, are Jodie Powell, Reade Barnes, Demi Carter, Kieran Tapp, Dylan Kennerley, Will Preston and Orla Greenshields.
