Girls Train on Hallowed Wembley Turf

Two footballers trained on the same pitch graced by Beckham and Rooney after winning a trip to Wembley Stadium.

Year 8 students Chloe Keller and Rosie Warren play for Kettering Town FC's under-13s girls' team.

Their manager Steve Warman entered the team into an FA competition to win a training session at the world-famous stadium and they were one of 13 clubs to make it through.

Mr Warman had to outline why he thought the team should win the Wembley trip, and he told the panel that the girls always keep their heads up whatever the score.

Chloe and Rosie's group was the only girls' team there and they were put through their paces alongside boys from across the country.

They took part in a two-hour training session made up of nine 10-minute activities, including defending and shooting tips, before watching England's first World Cup match against the USA on a television in the Bobby Moore Suite.

They even got to run out of the tunnel onto to the pitch to music.

Chloe, who is a goalkeeper, said: "It was very exciting and it definitely felt different playing at Wembley."

Rosie added: "It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip."
