Fundraising students from Kettering Science Academy have raised a further £100 to go towards their Peru challenge trip after volunteering to bag pack at the town’s Morrison Supermarket.
A group of students from the Secondary Phase volunteered to bag pack at the store on Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th February and they will be hoping to raise more money this Sunday, March 1st at the out-of-town B & M Store, on the Kettering Retail Park in Carina Road.
Each student has more than £4,000 in sponsorship to collect to allow them to take part in the next Camps International trip to Peru in July 2016.
So far, the group of 10 KSA students have raised money from a regular Friday cake stall at the Academy, a sponsored head shaving and a previous bag pack at B & M.
Future fundraising plans include a prom, taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge and car boot sales.
The students have also been writing to companies in the area asking for sponsorship.
Mathematics Teacher at KSA, Miss Anna Keen said: “We are looking to encourage as many people as possible to support the students’ ongoing fundraising efforts and I am confident they will all reach their fundraising targets, which will enable them to participate in the once in a lifetime experience next summer in Peru. “
Anyone wishing to help with the students’ fundraising efforts should contact the lead staff member for the trip, Miss Anna Keen via email: akeen@ketteringscienceacademy.org
