Pupils in Year 3 at Kettering Science Academy held a string concert for family and friends last term to demonstrate what they had learnt through a recent music project .
The children had been taking part in the First Access String Project on Wednesday afternoons within school, which saw the children spending time exploring music through learning to play the Violin or Cello, and by singing.
Parents/carers and other family members were invited to a concert held on Wednesday, 18th March allowing the pupils to showcase their musical talents.
Year 3 Teacher at KSA, Miss Jessica Griggs: Said: “They really enjoyed it, the children have learnt lots of new technical language each week. They have been learning different songs and rhythms as well. My class were constantly asking to sing the songs from the Wednesday sessions. Many of my children didn't enjoy music, but I have seen a big change and they have been motivated and have been looking forward to Wednesday afternoons.”
