Government Funding Approved For New Academy Building

Excitement is mounting about the plans for Kettering Science Academy’s new £26m building after the Government confirmed funding for the project last month.

The impressive new building has been designed to enhance the learning environment and provide students with modern facilities, such as two 'super' labs.

Making the most efficient use of energy has also been central to the plans, including a hi-tech heating system located under the playing field which will help to cut the Academy's energy bills.

Peter Simpson, Executive Principal of the Brooke Weston Partnership, said: "I'm delighted that the Government has decided to fund the new building for Kettering Science Academy.

"It would have been a terrific disappointment for us all if the project had been cancelled after we had spent so long planning the new school.

"The students and staff do really well in the old building but the facilities are very worn out and in need of replacement."
