Students from across The Brooke WestonTrust enjoyed a great day of cricket at a tournament held at the county ground last week.
The Kettering Science Academy under 13s team joined teams from the Brooke Weston Academy, Thomas Clarkson Academy, Corby Business Academy and Corby Technical School to participate in the whole day event, which was organised by KSA PE teacher, Mr William Baines.
The teams met at Northamptonshire’s county ground on Tuesday 14th June and were firstly given a historical talk and a tour of the ground before playing some inter-trust matches.
Each school’s team had two fixtures to play in a league competition.
Mr Baine said: “KSA lost to the eventual winners Brooke Weston and beat Thomas Clarkson Academy. The boys played exceptionally well against Thomas Clarkson hitting 7 6’s between them into the stands.”
Mr Baines added: “All the students really enjoyed the day and each school received an ashes urn replica from the county for attending. It was a great opportunity for all the lads to experience a big sporting venue and to play at the actual county ground. They all really enjoyed themselves and had a great day.”

The KSA cricketers were: Ross Irvine, Abin Raju, Chris McCarron, Harvey Barnard, Liam Osbourne, Dylan Kumar, Josh Shaw, Mitchel Whimpenney, Corey Murphey, Zack Whinstone and Jack Sykes.
