One of our Year 9 students has been rewarded for her exceptional ballet performances and theory work.
Lauren Reynolds was awarded a distinction for a recent examination she has been working towards for the last six months at the Spotlight and Dance School in Moulton.
Lauren has been studying and practising hard to complete her assignment and to get her performance right to receive top marks for her GCSE Intermediate Level 3 award.
Lauren has been dancing from the age of three years-old and said she is so pleased with her recent grading in ballet.
She said: “I love music and dancing and I have done so from an early age. I also enjoy cheerleading, but  I do enjoy ballet the most.”
As part of her obtaining her GCSE award Lauren had to arrange a ballet performance, teach a group a ballet routine, demonstrate some exercises including some work on her points, performed a solo dance and completing course work.
Lauren performed for examiners at a venue in Delapre, Northampton and was there for more than two hours being assessed.
She added: “I am really pleased that all my hard work has paid off and I was awarded a distinction grade for passing all the elements. It also means I have already secured UCAS points.”
Now, Lauren is busy concentrating on her next show with her dance school and competing with her cheerleading troop outside of school and helping out with the coaching of the KSA’s cheerleading group.
