On Friday, a team of Year 9 students competed in the Super Physics 2017 competition organised by the Institute of Physics.

27 schools took part in the inter-school competition, which is held annually at Uppingham Community College.

The students had to complete 6 short experiments and 3 longer investigations, answering questions on worksheets in order to score points.

They prepared a poster and presentation based on one of the experiments that had inspired them. As part of a new innovation this year, instead of showcasing the idea to the whole assembly, students "speed dated" their presentation to different teachers, receiving feedback and improving each time.

Mrs Louise Oliver said ‘although the students did not place in the top three, they thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned a lot, improving their practical and presentation skills.’

Well done to the four KSA students who took part:
