Friends, family, staff and peers recently gathered at KSA to watch our drama students perform three short pieces showcasing their GCSE and A level work.

Year 10 students performed their GCSE mock ‘Swear It’ – a collection of two pieces and six duologues whilst Year 12 students showcased their devised pieces ‘Women’s Uprising’ and ‘What is Society’.

The productions were based on Claire Luckman’s play ‘Trafford Tanzi’ and included a range of techniques from theatre practitioner Bertolt Brecht to make pieces that were relatable to modern day audiences.

Some of our students who are also taking part in a trip to Kenya over summer were also on hand selling cookies in the interval for £1 to raise money to help fund their trip.

Vice Principal Mrs Doherty said: ‘The students all performed brilliantly and showcased all the techniques they have learnt in lesson. They highlighted many current issues and should all be very proud of themselves.’
