Year 7 Footballers Are District Champions

The Year 7 football team beat rivals in Kettering and Corby to be crowned seven-a-side champions of the district.

Twelve teams took part in the tournament and KSA's team started their run of success by winning the group stages at Montsaye Community College in term 1.

In the tournament final earlier this month, the team played against Bishop Stopford School, Lodge Park Technology College and Kettering Buccleuch Academy and beat all three.

Not only did they score 11 goals but they did not any concede any.

On top of their achievements, KSA student Luke Aridegbe was voted Player of the Tournament and was also top goalscorer.

Coach Michael Oldershaw said: "We have a really good side and an amazing squad. It's one of the strongest we've had in a long time.

"Luke had a great tournament and he looked dangerous all night during the final. None of the defenders could keep up with him."

The 11-a-side season starts in March.
