Get Your Hands On A Golden Ticket

Sixth Formers have helped to stage their own version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring primary school children as the Oompa Loompas.

Two A Level Performing Arts students, Josh Farey and James Hyde, have spent months putting together the show, The Golden Ticket.

Performances will take place on Wednesday, May 11th and Thursday, May 12th at the Masque Theatre in Barton Seagrave, starting at 7pm.

The Golden Ticket features around 30 students from KSA's secondary phase and Year 3 and 4 children from the primary phase.

Josh and James are hoping for lots of audience participation with the songs, with the lyrics to be screened onto the scenery backdrop.

Josh, who is stage manager, said his job includes everything from health and safety to making sure the right props are on stage at the right time.

He said: "It's an entertaining show and some of the characters are quite funny. Students have taken the characters from the film and made them their own and made it more personal to us.

"We're not sticking religiously to the script and there is a twist in the story - we've put our own personal touch to it."

Tickets for The Golden Ticket are £3.50 and are available on the door or from Student Reception.
