Hannah’s Success In County Athletics Competition

Year 7 student Hannah Winstone came third in a 200m race at a recent competition at Rockingham Triangle.

Hannah, who is a member of Kettering Town Harriers, is normally a cross-country runner but she also excelled in the shorter, quicker run against pupils from across Northamptonshire.

She said: "I was very happy with the result. I think it's easier than cross-country in a way because of the shorter distance. I'd like to do it again."

Hannah has competed at county level before after taking part in a school cross-country run which meant she was entered into a Northamptonshire-wide competition.

She has been a member of the Harriers for just over two years and runs 3k when competing in long-distance running events.

She will next compete in the Harriers' Chairman's Cup, which is an annual event.

Hannah said: "I like running because it's a good time to think about things while getting some exercise at the same time."
