Cake Sale For Hawking House Charity

A student has organised a cake sale afternoon to raise money for a charity set up by her mum.

Megan Marshall is holding the sale on Tuesday, July 5th at KSA in support of Hawking House's nominated charity.

Her mum, Dawn Green, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2008 but set up her own charity to raise awareness of pseudomyxoma peritonei.

Hawking has got behind her efforts and Megan is calling on people to continue the support by picking up some goodies at the cake sale.

It starts at 3.30pm and is being held outside the main hall.

Megan has had help from Leia Pomfrett and Year 7 student Charlotte Marlow, who is in her form.

Megan said: "We'd love for people to come and support the charity - it's a really good way to raise awareness and there will lots of treats for people to enjoy."

Megan, who is Vice Charity Captain for Hawking, is looking forward to the first fundraising event she has organised. She said: "It's been a bit hectic but it's been fun as a challenge."
