Creative Arts Exhibition Proves To Be A Hit

Visitors to KSA’s first exhibition of the creative and visual arts were impressed with students’ efforts.

From A Level photography to music compositions and product design, the display showcased the creative endeavours of students who have been busy putting their work together over the last year.

Textiles students made a dress out of recycled Iceland bags and there was also a table topped with a chess board, mobile phone holders and CD racks.

Sixth Formers paid a visit to the exhibition on Friday night en route to their prom.

Kealey Squires (pictured) was exhibiting her AS photography work.

She said: "I enjoyed presenting it all and everyone seeing your work. It also lets you explain the work behind it instead of having just the pictures.

"I think the exhibition was set out really well - there should be another one next year."

Families who stopped by were fully supportive of the exhibition and said it should be repeated.

Parent Brian Ewen was there to see his daughter Rachel's GCSE coursework.

He said: "It's a good idea because it gives the children a chance to show people their work to everyone. It's also a good experience if this is something they'd like to do.

"I'm very impressed with the standard of work - it shows the diversity in school."

Mum Sharon Robinson, whose son Lewis was displaying his A Level photography work, echoed the sentiments.

She said: "It's very good, brilliant. It's nice because you don't usually get to see their work. I think it would good to do more throughout the year to see the work progressing."

Former Sixth Former Daniel Kelly, who is now studying fine art at the University of Northampton, also had a display featuring watercolours and sculptures.
