Students Meet Their Idol

A pair of book mad students won a competition to meet their favourite author.

Year 8 student Rhea Siddal and Year 7 student Sophie Campbell met international best selling children's writer Jacqueline Wilson at a special event held at the Kettering Arts Centre based at St Andrew's Church in Kettering on March 6th.

The pair won the opportunity after entering a library competition, in which they had to write a story in just six words.

The competition was inspired by Ernest Hemingway , who wrote a six word story after  a bet.

Rhea, pictured with Jacqueline Wilson, said: "I went with my mum to meet my hero.

"After a 45 minute talk where she told us about how she became a writer, we were able to have two books signed.

"When I was standing next to Jacqueline Wilson, I was so happy but also nervous. I had my photo taken with her and it was the best day of my life."
