Sixth Former’s Project to get Primary Pupils Snacking on Fruit

A student has designed a healthy eating campaign to get younger pupils thinking about what goes into their lunchboxes.

Naomi Anderson is studying health and social care and for one of the units, she had to develop and promote a health campaign.

She has been working with the two year 3 classes over in the Primary Phase and introduced a chart to help them start replacing unhealthy snacks with fruit and vegetables. Pupils will receive a sticker on their chart for each item of fruit they bring in and they will receive certificates according to how well they have done.

Naomi started the three-week campaign last Thursday by providing a selection of chopped up fruits for the children to sample.
