Street Dancer Hayden Wows the Audience at KSA Variety Show
Four acts from KSA will go through to a town-wide talent competition after the judges cast their vote at the Academy’s Variety Show.
A group of A Level performing arts students staged the show on Thursday following auditions earlier this year.
Street dancer Hayden Carter (pictured front with organisers Ryan Ollett and Lorna Watts) was awarded first place out of the 13 acts, followed by the Rock Challenge dance group in second position. In joint third position were singers Darcy Dixon and Kayleigh Tucker.
They will all go through to the K-Factor competition on July 18th at the Lighthouse Theatre, facing acts from other schools across Kettering.
Ryan Ollett, who helped to organise the show and held assemblies to promote the event, said: "It was a really positive show with good performances by everyone. We had about 120 people in the audience which was a great turnout.
"The judges had certain criteria to mark the acts on, like stage presence, costume and performance. Hayden has brilliant stage presence - he's only in Year 7 but he performed as if he was one of the oldest ones. The audience loved him."
The event helped to raise £168 for sixth former Ellie Warren's Camps International trip to Kenya later this year.
