Principal’s Assemblies

Celebrating achievement is one of the key themes underpinning daily assemblies by Principal Martin Campbell.

Mr Campbell now holds a 15-minute assembly with years 7 and 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and with years 9, 10 and 11 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

As well as setting standards across the Academy, Mr Campbell uses the time to celebrate individual success, such as when a pupil has worked particularly well on a project. Mr Campbell also uses the time to talk to pupils about school and community life as well as issues in the wider world.

This afternoon (Tuesday 2nd October), Mr Campbell looked at the issue of using Standard English and the assumptions we make about people based on the way they talk.

He then went on to discuss punctuality and praised Year 7 for the efforts they have made to arrive at school on time.
